Montfort Hospital is a full-service teaching community hospital offering primary and secondary health care services in French and English and is the only hospital in Ontario that trains health care professionals to serve the francophone population in a French milieu. In order to be able to achieve this, the hospital needed to increase its capacity.

The redevelopment project doubled the size (750,000 sq. ft.) of the hospital, adding two new wings and renovating existing facilities. The new buildings are connected to the existing 1953 facility in six separate locations. Existing sections of the facility, built in 1953 and 1992, were completely renovated in a phased approach to reduce operational impacts.

ZW was selected to provide full Project Management Services for the redevelopment of Montfort Hospital; from master plan and functional program approval, through to construction and commissioning.
