The Domestic/International and Trans-border baggage handling systems of the Ottawa International Airport was reaching its end of life and with new Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) requirements to be implemented it required a new design. CATSA mandated the airport to provide 100% bag screening and bag tracking which they incorporated into the project. The project involved the relocation of specific airport operations/functions to new facilities, therefore, early work projects commenced; including:
• The building of a new Maintenance Building for the relocation of Maintenance Services from the Passenger Terminal Building.
• A new Water Fill Building which was housed within the Passenger Terminal Building.
• A new Tug Charging Building which was also housed within the Passenger Terminal Building.
• Campus Hydro upgrade to a new 28kv service for existing and future expansion capacities.
• Fit up of CATSA Office, Air Canada Offices, BHS Office relocations and K9 Relocation
